Hardness: 3-3.5. This newly acquired specimen is from Madagascar, renowned for producing the world's highest quality celestite, and is exceptionally rare at over 10 carats. Polishing is extremely difficult, making it very rare for this stone to circulate in its rough state. A faint bluish tint can be discerned against a white background.

However, cristobalite itself isn't typically treated as a gemstone, so the pure visual impression is what defines Egg-in-Opal's characteristic feature. The biggest selling point of this newly arrived specimen is its remarkably well-formed egg shape and its clear, easily recognizable appearance. The faint play-of-color around it adds a lovely touch, making it quite charming!
