Its Japanese name is Hackman-ishi. It was first discovered on Russia’s Kola Peninsula. It is known to fluoresce when exposed to UV light and to afterglow afterward. While the afterglow of this specimen is quite faint, its fluorescence is incredibly intense! It looks as if the stone itself is glowing. Plus, it comes from the rare Canadian source.

It’s a fairly deep violet—one of the darkest we’ve received so far—and this stone is untreated and unheated! It also has strong fluorescence, giving it a sense of duality.
