「青色」を意味するラテン語の「sapphirus（サッピルス）」、ギリシャ語の「sappheiros（サピロス）」に由来する名で呼ばれ、蒼玉、青玉（せいぎょく）とも呼ばれる。酸化アルミニウムの結晶で、モース硬度はダイヤモンドに次ぐ9。
ネオン感あるピンクにパープルがうっすら入って妖艶な色です。蛍光もしっかり強め。

The name derives from the Latin “sapphirus” and Greek “sappheiros,” both meaning “blue,” and it is also called sapphire or blue jade. It is a crystalline form of aluminum oxide with a Mohs hardness of 9, second only to diamond.
It features a neon-like pink with a faint hint of purple, creating an alluring color. Its fluorescence is also quite strong.
