「青色」を意味するラテン語の「sapphirus（サッピルス）」、ギリシャ語の「sappheiros（サピロス）」に由来する名で呼ばれ、蒼玉、青玉（せいぎょく）とも呼ばれる。酸化アルミニウムの結晶で、モース硬度はダイヤモンドに次ぐ9。
パープリッシュピンクのフレッシュな印象を持つ個体です。少しですがオレンジ混じりの蛍光も可愛らしいです。

The name derives from the Latin “sapphirus” and Greek “sappheiros,” both meaning “blue,” and it is also called sapphire or blue jade. It is a crystalline form of aluminum oxide with a Mohs hardness of 9, second only to diamond.
This specimen has a fresh, purplish-pink appearance. It also exhibits a slight orange-tinged fluorescence, which is quite charming
