ペリドットは宝石名であり、オリーブ色をしていることから、鉱物学では『オリビン』と呼ばれ、和名のカンラン石の『カンラン』も"オリーブ"という意味に由来するといわれています。
その名のとおり美しい黄緑色した８月の誕生石として、人気の高いパワーストーンです。
黄色をあまり含まず色合い自体も濃すぎない上品なグリーンです。
スワート渓谷周辺でしか産出しない希少な針インクルージョン入りペリドットです。
Peridot is the gemstone name, and due to its olive color, it is called ‘olivine’ in mineralogy. The Japanese name ‘kanran-seki’ (olivine) is also said to derive from ‘kanran,’ meaning “olive.”
True to its name, it is a popular power stone as the beautiful yellow-green birthstone for August.
This is an elegant green that contains very little yellow and is not too dark.
It is a rare peridot with needle-like inclusions found exclusively in the Swart Valley area.
