コモンオパールの一種で、別名カショロン。まるで陶器のような純白の強い、変わり種のオパールです。カメオなどの加工品、腕時計の文字盤に使用されることもあります。
ちょっと写真では全て伝わらないかもしれませんが、色斑がエッグインのようになっている個性的なカショロンです。
多孔質で乾燥や湿気への懸念、また傷のつきやすい特性がありますので、アクセサリー向きと言うよりはコレクション向きの石です。
A type of common opal, also known as Kasholon. It is a unique variety of opal with a pure white color reminiscent of porcelain. It is sometimes used in crafted items such as cameos and on watch dials.
While the photos may not fully capture its beauty, this Kasholon has a distinctive pattern of color spots that resemble an "egg-in" effect.
Due to its porous nature, it is susceptible to damage from dryness and humidity, and is prone to scratching. As a result, it is more suited for a collection than for use in jewelry.
