「青色」を意味するラテン語の「sapphirus（サッピルス）」、ギリシャ語の「sappheiros（サピロス）」に由来する名で呼ばれ、蒼玉、青玉（せいぎょく）とも呼ばれる。 酸化アルミニウムの結晶で、モース硬度はダイヤモンドに次ぐ9。
市場でも見かけるタイプの正統派シルキーサファイアですね。オレンジカラーが入り混じるピンクに、ほんのり紫のミルキーなのが可愛い子です。これまで入荷したものの中でも割と大きめです！
The name derives from the Latin “sapphirus” and Greek “sappheiros,” both meaning “blue,” and it is also called “blue jade” or “blue agate.” It is a crystalline form of aluminum oxide with a Mohs hardness of 9, second only to diamond.
This is a classic silky sapphire, the type you often see in the market. It's a lovely piece with a pink hue tinged with orange and a faint milky purple. It's also relatively large compared to others we've received so far!
