デュモルチェライトの名前は、発見者のフランスの古生物学者”ユージン・デュモルティエに因んで名付けられました。「デュモルチェライトインクォーツ」とは、水晶が成長していく過程でデュモルチェライトを取り込んだものをいいます。

The name Dumortierite honors its discoverer, the French paleontologist Eugène Dumortier. “Dumortierite in Quartz” refers to quartz that has incorporated dumortierite during its growth process.
