フェルスパーグループ（長石族）に属し、アンデシンとラブラドライトの中間体にあたる鉱物です。ラブラドライトに似た光学効果を示すものも多いです。
光を当てると表面に虹色の光を見せるものは「レインボームーンストーン」、ブルーの光を見せるものは「ブルームーンストーン」として流通しています。
希少で人気のピンク色が入り混じって出る子です。アイクリーンで内包物も少なめです。
Moonstone belongs to the feldspar group and is an intermediate mineral between andesine and labradorite. Many exhibit optical effects similar to labradorite.
Specimens displaying iridescent light on their surface when illuminated are marketed as “rainbow moonstone,” while those showing blue light are sold as “blue moonstone.”
This specimen features a rare and popular pink hue mixed within. It is eye-clean with minimal inclusions.
