鉱物名、宝石名共にゾイサイト、和名を灰簾石(かいれんせき)や、ゆう簾石(ゆうれんせき)といいます。スロベニアの鉱物コレクター、ジグムント・ゾイス氏に由来して名付けられました。

The mineral and gemstone name is Zoisite, known in Japanese as Kairenseki or Yūrenseki. It was named after the Slovenian mineral collector, Sigmund Zois.
