和名フォード石、アメリカの大手自動車メーカーの工場で自動車の塗装に用いられていたエナメル塗料が層を成し積み重なって出来たとされる半人工石。
デトロイトメノウの別名も持ちます。
一部にキャンディブルーカラー、多くはグレーガンメタリックカラーの「ラメ」が混じって個性ある雰囲気に。同じ柄が一つとして存在しない唯一無二感もあります。
また、裏面は表情がガラリと変わるのがこの石の面白いところですね。
Ford Stone, a semi-artificial stone said to have formed from layers of enamel paint used for automobile coating at a major American automaker's factory.
It is also known as Detroit agate.
Some pieces feature candy blue hues, while many incorporate gray gunmetal metallic “glitter,” creating a distinctive character. Each stone possesses a unique pattern, making every piece one-of-a-kind.
Another fascinating aspect of this stone is how its appearance dramatically changes when viewed from the reverse side.
