この「アパタイト」という名前はギリシア語の「騙す・策略」を意味する言葉が由来となっています。アパタイトは様々な色や結晶構成で産出されるので、アクアマリンやフローライト、トルマリンなど、色んな石と間違われたためにこの名が付いたといわれています。含有元素によって無色・ピンク・赤・黄・緑・青・紫など様々な色があります。
うるうるツヤツヤで非常に光沢がある個体です。
The name “apathite” originates from a Greek word meaning “to deceive” or “to scheme.” It is said this name arose because apathite occurs in various colors and crystal structures, often mistaken for other stones like aquamarine, fluorite, or tourmaline. Depending on its constituent elements, it can be colorless, pink, red, yellow, green, blue, purple, or many other hues.
This specimen is exceptionally lustrous and glossy.
