アンダルサイトは、カイヤナイトとシリマナイトというふたつの鉱物の同質異像体です。
アンダルサイトの多色性の色の動きはアレキサンドライトと比較されますが、専門的に言うと全く違うもので、アンダルサイトのようなジェムストーンは多色性（異なった方向から見ると異なった色に見える）と言って、すべての色を一度に見せるのに対し、アレキサンドライトは光源が変わらないと色が変わりません。

Andalusite is a polymorph of two minerals: kyanite and sillimanite.
While the color play of andalusite's pleochroism is often compared to alexandrite, technically they are entirely different. Gemstones like andalusite exhibit pleochroism (appearing different colors when viewed from different angles), displaying all colors simultaneously, whereas alexandrite only changes color when the light source changes.
